MOST FAMOUS ROADMAP
Appius Claudius Caecus gave a famous speech... declaring that Rome would never surrender. This is the first recorded political speech in Latin, and is the source of the saying...
"every man is the architect of his own fortune".
Perhaps the first evidence of a Roadmap to successfully govern was when Appius Claudius Caecus (340 BC-273 BC) applied the principles of building a strategic road combined with clear procedures and a calendar or timeline.
He built the Appian Way, a strategic and famous road between Rome and Capua which still exists today.
He strengthened his position by publishing for the first time a list of legal procedures and the legal calendar, knowledge of which, until that time, had been reserved for the pontifices, the priests.
